  • Thin-film solar cell

As its name suggests, it is a sort of solar cell made from a layer of thin film, its silicon content is minimal, which make it easier to reduce the cost. In addition, it is an energy-efficient product and also a novel building material, more easily integrated with buildings. There are various low-price materials can be used as the base plate for the thin-film solar cells, such as glass, plastic, ceramics, graphite, sheet metal and other materials. The thickness of the film which is able to produce required voltages is no wider than several μm, therefore compare with silicon wafer, under the same sunlight area, the thin film solar cell significantly reduces the amount of raw materials.
